it's not a stray bcuz it has one of those spike collars on iit, but it was terribly neglected cuz it was so skinny. And I snuck it in my backyard, fed it and gave it a home for the night. We already have 4 dogs, my parents won't let me have anymore, but yea..this dog won't go away cuz I fed it. I love animals if u can tell. I'll pick up any stary dog, but yea. I think it's owners are across the street, but I don't want him to go back there and get neglected again....what do I do? I have to go to school in a few, and if my dad cpmes out and finds him, he's gonna run him off [yell at him, HIT him]

Notify the authorities that the dog is neglected. They will pick the dog up and take him to a shelter. They will give the owners a citation for neglect and they will have to pay a fine. Serves them right, too. Nice of you to be concerned for the dog. Sorry you can't keep him.

You need to take the dog back to the owners if you know who they are. The dog may be microchipped the owner can be found..
You are being self centered about the dog. Your parents don't want it around and frankly I wouldn't want a stray in my yard either. But I have two dogs, and my lab went missing for a couple of days, I got a call from the pound because someone found him and turned him in, he had a collar but had lost his tags, he is microchipped.
Do the right thing.

The dog could be skinny because it has been wandering around lost. I would try to find the true owners and then if you find them ask if you can visit him.( If they were neglecting him they may even let you have them). If you see any signs of neglect call the humane society.

call the local animal shelter, tell them you found what appears to be a neglected stray. they'll come pick him up. tell your parents that you found it and call the animal shelter and they are on their way so they can keep him in the yard until they get there

Call the animal shelter and report abuse. If he is really being neglected, the owers will have to relinquish control of him and could also face charges or fines.

Try feeding the dog in school secretly...with friends if u want....
or, ask some dog lovers to adopt it....?
