Yes, look in a mirror,

The bible teaches that you are the soul, not that you have a soul.

1.If man has a soul – Why does Gen 2:7 say that man became a soul? (1 Cor 15:45)
Difference in being an elephant and having an elephant

1a.Why do many modern translations translate the Hebrew word for soul into being,
if the soul is something separate and distinct from the person? Gen 2:7 NIV

2.If man’s soul is immortal – Why does Ez. 18:4, 20 say it can die? (Acts 3:23)

2a.Why does Jesus say it can be destroyed? (Matt. 10:28)

3.If a man’s soul lives on after death – Why do man’s thoughts perish at death?
(Ps. 146:4; Eccl. 9:5,10)

3a.If a man’s soul lives on after death – Why did Jesus liken death to sleep?
(John 11:11-14; Acts 7:60)

3b.If a man’s soul lives on after death – Where is King David?
(Acts 2:29, 34; John 3:13)

4.What happens to a man’s soul when his spirit returns to God?
(Ps. 146:4; Eccl 12:7; Ps 104:29)

5.Why does the “New Encyclopedia Britannica” say that the Hebrew and Greek word for soul really means animated beings both human and non human. So Animals are souls (Breathers). (Gen. 1:20, 21, 24, 25; Lev 24:17, 18)

“The Hebrew term for ‘soul’ (nefesh, that which breathes) was used by Moses . . . , signifying an ‘animated being’ and applicable equally to nonhuman beings. . . . New Testament usage of psyche (‘soul’) was comparable to nefesh.”—The New Encyclopædia Britannica (1976), Macropædia, Vol. 15, p. 152.

6.Why does the “New Catholic Encyclopedia” state that the word soul never means a soul as distinct from the body or the individual person.

“There is no dichotomy [division] of body and soul in the O[ld] T[estament]. The Israelite saw things concretely, in their totality, and thus he considered men as persons and not as composites. The term nepeš [ne´phesh], though translated by our word soul, never means soul as distinct from the body or the individual person. . . . The term [psy•khe´] is the N[ew] T[estament] word corresponding with nepeš. It can mean the principle of life, life itself, or the living being.”—New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967), Vol. XIII, pp. 449, 450.

7.Please note “Immortality of the soul is a Greek notion formed in ancient mystery cults and elaborated by the philosopher Plato.” —Presbyterian Life, May 1, 1970, p. 35.

8.What was the original lie? (Gen 3:4) “You will not die.” if you disobey God.
The immortality of the soul concept says “You will not die if you disobey God.
Your immortal soul lives on someplace.”

So in reality the immortal soul idea is a teaching of Plato and not Jesus (#2a & 7)

The soul is the person, the individual being who breaths, thinks, eats and dies. (#1a & 2)

For a soul/person to live again God must resurrect that person (soul) to life again. (Acts 24:15)

No you can't see your own soul. your soul is what will go to be with Jesus in Heaven if you believe in him before he comes back. Your soul is your spiritual body that the holy spirit resides in when you become a christian. The Soul has also often been refered to as your inermost being. In answer to the answers that stated that you are what your soul looks like. that is partially true. If the Holy Spirit resides in you, you can see it trough the way you act, "evan a child is known by his actions, by weather his conduct is good and right".

I don't believe you can see a soul, it is not a substance, with physical properties that our eyes can detect or our sense of touch can feel. It is an essence, it is the eternal part of our being, housed in our bodies, like the wind, invisible, but you can see how it moves the things around it, here now, and one day gone, to return to its maker.

A good theological definition of the soul is the mind, will and emotions. The Bible is a self-proclaimed sword, able to divide between soul and spirit. As we study it, we are enabled to perceive the components of our soul, though highly deceitful.

I believe that if you look (or try to examine) your life, and what is in your heart, that you will be able to get a good "picture" of your soul and the areas where you may need work. Searching one's self and what is truly in your heart is a great deal about being able to know what you have to offer to others, and also the areas where your own spirit/soul may require some adjustments (how you can or want to improve yourself).

Both my friend and I used to play this game called "Do you know what is wrong with you....???" When we would preface a remark about the other... with those words (or that question), we were about to say something that was equally true about ourselves! It's easy to "look at" and see, and KNOW the faults of others, but to know your own self, you are going to have to spend time in meditation and self-introspection.

Each of us are different, and each of us has our own ideas, ideals, (like a moral code) and expectations of ourselves and others. Most of us have several of our own set of rules. Sadly not all of use have a GOOD set of rules to live by, that is why you have people who choose to waste their lives, spirits and souls with things like drugs or abuse of themselves or others (in any way or form).

All of a good person's life, they often look into their own soul and heart to KNOW what they may need to adjust and throughout your life you will notice changes, they may be for the better or they may be changes that mean you have made some bad choices... (If you have given your life and soul over to the good of your loved ones and yourself...OR if your soul is lost in a mess like a drug or alcohol addiction or your are a liar who has hurt the people who love you, and you have also chosen to hurt yourself.

Yes, I can see my soul, and as many do...What I see when I look into my own soul, is (sorry, here's a cliche') "a work in progress", I have many faults, but I am trying to make the changes that I know will be the right things for me to do...I am working on not holding grudges, on not being so quick to judge others, to be more kind, and less quick to swear. I need more patience, I believe I have good intentions, but I have a need for tolerance of the difficulties that others may be suffering. There are many things, and making the changes for the better can be as difficult as we (and others may make it for us to do)...Always remember when looking into your own soul, when you find a shortcoming you must NEVER blame YOUR faults on the others who are close to you. YOU can change whatever it is about your own soul that you don't like, you only have to be willing, and sometimes you may find that making the changes for the better will be easier IF you ask for the help of "your higher power of choice"...(Was that politically correct? I did my best),

I worship God, but I understand to be fair to all, and this is a good quesion, that I will include the "diety of choice" option on this one.

Thanks for asking, I hope when you look in your soul that you find some clay that you can mold into the kind of person that you want or need to be. My best to you and yours.

Nobody can, because it is a mystery.
You can only feel it when you practice selfless love as taught by the Messenger of God. You will realize your happiness and your progress.
