Childern don't need much looking after - I just want an adult in the house as I work long hours, duties include meals, washing,house work - all light duties probably amounting two a couple of hrs / day - the rest of the time the aupair can do what ever they want.

I am generally gone from tjhe house by 06:00 and return abiut 20:00hrs - hence the reason for the aupair. Otherwise the children would be alone for about 5hrs / day - am I being too soft or is this too long to leave children by themselves?
On my time off I don't want to deal with washing, ironing, etc....

I was left in the house by myself when I was 11, I had a brother two years older and we were fine. Thats how I learnt to cook and clean and iron and that. You'll just be wasting your money on an au pair.

i'm sorry but your kids are twelve and fourteen. The oldest one can lagally babysit and you want to get a live in babysitter. Are you having a laugh. For the tasks yopu mentioned i'd be looking for acleaner not an au pair. Good luck

you dont need an au pair for that....get onto yellow pages and look under domestic help....good luck
