I can so relate. And I used to be the guy delivering the sermon! Of course I was taught that 20 minutes is a message, 40 minutes is a lecture, and 60 minutes is a bladder infection for the elderly.

You do your part for the service by singing, but you should not join just to escape a boring sermon. You should find a church with a preacher that suits you better.

Hi!

It depends on the church you are attending...

If you attend a church that is not lead by the Holy Spirit but by propagandas, programmes, social meetings and human ideas, then you may easily think that all churches are like that...

A real church that is lead by the Holy Spirit will make you want to be there for the whole day...there are many who discovered this truth and they left their jobs for the glory of God...Once you discover Jesus Christ as He really is, and not as you were told, you'd want to be close to Him all through the day...

Answering your question:

It is wrong to do something GOOD for the wrong motives. It will always yield bad results eventually...better try to seek God Himself and not to be involved in church activities to avoid some unreviving situation in your church.

If your church does not really seek Jesus Christ, but church politics, then it is better to hook up with real Holy Spirit-filled believers who, by their words will change your life for the best...

Hug!

If you're not old enough to leave altogether, you gotta do whatever it takes, within the confines of your parents' authority.

Singing is much more pleasant than listening to propaganda.
