HI,
Good arts and crafts type person here taking on a large project for Christmas. Last year 3 days before Christmas my husband's dad's house burned to the ground. My husband found a shotgun that had been in the family for generations. While I would never trust it to fire again I would like to reblue it (I think thats what the call it). I have a place that I can probably get a replacement stock for it but how do you go about reblueing it. The metal is not pitted either just very rusty from being in the fire and snow.

Can afford to pay for it to be redone by a pro, that want over $500 to do it. I just want to clean it up and make it look semi presentable for a very backwoods redneck family. The cheaper the better, time is free.

Good answer but I need some step by step instructions. Any idea where to find them photos would be good too. Can't afford a pro.
