gatiep and maraai (cape names) a married couple used the term washing machine whenever they wanted to make love.
one night gatiep poked maraai in the back while she was sleeping and said "washing machine" maraai turned around and told gatiep that she was too tired and turned around to sleep.
after a while she felt so bad that she turned to gatiep and said "washing machine"
"no said gatiep....it was a small load so i decided to wash it with my hand!!

Quite funny green joke. I knew another version similar to your joke. It goes like this:
A couple used the word "typewriting" as their password if they feel like making love. They often have their young son as their messenger who doesn't understand their code.
One early night the father told the son to tell his mother to come to their room to do "typewriting". The son did tell his mother who replied" Tell your father,the ribbon is wet."
5 days past and the father told the son the same thing and the mother said that the ribbon is still wet.
A week past and the wife was waiting for the "message" but nothing heard of so she called the son to tell his father that the ribbon already got dry. After a shortwhile the son came back saying: "Father said no need because he made it "handwritten" .

thats a little amusing...i dont like the names...but i do like the joke...hand washes are always nice at times
