IF he desires sex, is functional, but cannot find a partner, then he could have issues. Once that person realizes that the sex is only a camflouge for the lack of love, they may become unstable too.
As to whether a guy would go to women of ill repute, that depends on the social upbringing, their income, and the availability of such women. If you want something and you know where to get it....you'll find a way.
Also realize that every guy doesn't work in an environment where there are options availble to him. A guy may not be often reminded about his lonliness at work or home if there aren't women around to be seen. IF you are trying to quit smoking and you aren't around others who smoke, you aren't temped as much. A lot of guys work in an environment where there aren't a lot of options so they can function as human as they need to function.

Speaking as one of those very people, it's very difficult. I haven't had any kind of sexual relationship with my wife for over 3 years and although I still want her, she apparently doesn't want me anymore - whether she's getting it elsewhere I haven't a clue and don't want to know.
