I have heard great things about the nasal strips available across the counter at most drug stores. They are not expensive and do not have to be taken orally. Just apply the strip across the bridge of the nose before bed time. It works by actually pulling gently outward on the nostril which in turn allows the airway to remain open during sleep, people who snore, 99.9999% anyway are doing so because of the septum and nasal wall coming to close together causing an obstructed airway path thus causing the forced air to flow through the restricted opening and create the loud noise you are hearing.
Be aware though, there are other reasons if this doesnt work that will require a doctors input. try`em and see how they work, chances are they will do the job and you`ll finally get the rest you need and not have to go back to the living room couch.

If your husband is a chronic snorer, this is not good. He needs to see a doctor and have a sleep study done. I was a chronic snorer for years and never thought it was a big deal. Long story short, I had sleep apena which can be a very deadly situation if left untreated. This is what killed Reggie White. My sleep apnea went untreated for years and it caused me to go into cardiac arrest and I know have a trach in the neck for the rest of my life and i'm only 36. My advise to you....get him to a doctor ASAP. There is no home rememdy for this one.

You can get him those breathe right strips that go on the nose. They open up the nasal passages so he can breathe withouth medication. You can find them at like wal-mart or any store.
