Psychology is the study of people: how they think, how they act, react and interact. Psychology is concerned with all aspects of behaviour and the thoughts, feelings and motivation underlying such behaviour.
Psychology is a discipline that is firstly concerned with the normal functioning of the mind and has explored areas such as learning, remembering and the normal psychological development of children. Psychology is one of the fastest growing university subjects and is becoming more and more available in schools and colleges.
Psychologists deal in the way the mind works and motivation, and can specialise in various areas such as; Mental Health work and Educational and Occupational Psychology.
It is useful to remember that Psychologists are not usually medically qualified and only a small proportion of people studying psychology degrees will go on to work with patients.
Psychiatry is the study of mental disorders and their diagnosis, management and prevention. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who have qualified in Psychiatry.
Differences between them are disappearing thesedays. In some countries Clinical Psychologists can prescribe drugs and they are very close to psychiatrists.

Do you mean psychologist and psychiatrist? If so,
A psychologist is a scientist and/or clinician who studies psychology, the systematic investigation of the human mind, including behavior and cognition. Psychologists are usually categorized under a number of different fields, the most well-recognized being clinical psychologists, who provide mental health care, and research psychologists, who collect, investigate and analyze aspects of human behavior.
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor:
Psychiatry is a medical specialty dealing with the prevention, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental illness – both in itself and in bodily illness ('psychiatry in medicine') – such as clinical depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and anxiety disorders. Its primary goal is the relief of mental suffering and improvement of mental well-being. This is sometimes done by first doing a thorough diagnostic assessment of the person from a biological, psychological, and social/cultural perspective. An illness or problem can then be managed by medication or various forms of psychotherapy. The word 'psychiatry' derives from the Greek for "healer of the spirit".

Easy - A medical degree. Psychologist has a degree in psychology, a psychiatrist has a medical degree, with a specialty in psych. Psychiatrist can prescribe Medications, psychologist can, in some places prescribe limited medications (varies greatly internationally)
just re another answer, psychology is on most places I am aware of, an undergraduate degree course (3yrs, plus 1 yr hons). Of course post graduate studt is available, and some go on to achieve a PhD, and earn the title Doctor, but are still limited by the lack of medical degree/license, in what they can prescribe. ie, they can talk talk talk, but can not medicate.
Psychiatrist is more likely to consider organic causes (ie medical problems, chemical imbalalnces etc), where as psyhologists tend to relate to emotion and past events, the "touchy-feely" side.

A psychiatrist has an MD degree and has been through and successfully completed medical school before doing a psychiatry residency. He/she can prescribe drugs.
A psychologist has been through a Ph.D. or Psy.D. program and cannot prescribe drugs. They are more likely to be the leader of therapy sessions or individual therapy.
Often psychiatrists and psychologists work together for the patient's benefit.

A psychologist usually has a PhD in Psychology and can only engage in solving your problems by therapy-talking and that kind of stuff. But, a Psychiatrist is a MD, medical doctor with real medical training. He can give you meds along with therapy.
