Yes! Put out two cans of soda and see which ones the insects avoid. They won't go near diet soda because it is artificial and chemical and completely unnatural. The same thing applies with butter vs. margarine. Put out a stick of each and you will see that insects won't go near the margarine (which is only a molecule away from being plastic).

Many blind taste tests have been tried on bees to find the answer to that, but it was too hard to keep the blindfold on the little suckers. We can put a man on the moon but we can't get the answer to that age old question
