Pretty much everything is a state of mind. Coming from there - the attention you are giving a thought give it importance - or not.

So what you can do is to drive your attention to other matters. Distract yourself when you sense your thoughts coming up. Quickly consciously do something else, change topics, thinka bout the last joke you heard and laugh loud. Stuff like that.

I am bonkers as well so I don't know how to treat it, I just enjoy it so should you.!! I have catastrophies every day, but they pass.
