What is the average salary? I live in Alabama.
How important is it that the college is accredited? I found a brochure for an online course through a junior college. But they are still working on getting vet. tech program accredited.

Of course I love animals. That's why I'm thinking about becoming one.

I think I could deal with it. I found a dog that was in very bad shape. The vet said she had a bladder tumor and kidney failure. She was blind. It was awful. I called the humane society and they put her down. Of course, I didn't watch, but I know understand that sometimes it's the best thing to do.

First thing to consider is the amount of work that will be put into this. Second is do you like animals. Most of all make sure that you are fully aware of other job opportunities besides that. I guess make sure that you will get bitten, scratched several times. I know because I was one. Now I'm a Phlebotomist and I love it.

Just one small part.....can you deal with seeing an animal put down? That's why I didn't become a vet tech. I couldn't deal with it and I fully admit that. Instead I became a dental assistant.
