Polydactylism. A common trait among the Hemingway cats because of excessive in-breeding. Today only cats with this polydactyl gene are allowed to breed at the Hemingway House & Museum.

my cat has six toes on 3 feet 5 toes on one i found that the extra claw curls up and it hurts him to walk so i clip it about every 2-3 weeks he lets me so it must make him feel better i call him tiger six toes lol if ya look it up on the net some of them are very costly to buy

A polydactyl- I have two and they are fabulous. They have wonderful personalities and they love to catch things with their big feet. It is also said they are good at walking on the snow because of their large feet. Do you have one?
