i have unpaid balances with some utility companies.How can I get utilities in my name when I move?Can I just pay the balances and pay a deposit to get them tuned on.Or will they never forgive me?

They may settle, especially if a collections agency has contacted you. ie: you owe $500, but they might take $300 and call it square. It's not very good for your credit score, but you'll be able to get your utilities.
If they don't offer to settle, paying off your balance will work.

Pay the balances and clear up your credit. The new utility company may or may not access your credit history, or you may be able to establish an account with the utility company by giving them a cash deposit.

Every needs utilities....call the company and work something out. yes, normally you have to pay off the balance or a minimum have a payment plan in place. When you have a bad rap w/the companies, they will usually require a deposit for new or re-established accounts.

In real life I don't believe companies will forgive you.. The bills need to be paid honey...I would talk to them, in person, and see what they can work out with you as in a repayment plan..

You Could try paying them off or ask them about a pre-payment meeter to pay off any debts owed
