The Doorway Within

There is within us all a door
Leading to places unknown,
Opening to bright sweet gardens
From inner seeds sown.
Nourished with the glow of love,
Watered by compassions tears.
Weeded by sorrow and joy,
Shadowed at times by fears.
I seek this inner courtyard,
As a place of solitude and rest.
I shall withdraw there a time
And pray to pass this test.
This sanctum is within us all,
The doorway hidden within
We need only open up to ourselves
And let the garden begin.

It is a very nice poem, but this one really touches my heart:

Can you see, with your mind's eye,
peoples dwelling together?
Sorrow has passed. Peace at last!
Life without tears and pain.
Man and beast, living in peace,
Cause no harm to each other.
Food will be there. All will share
in what our God provides.
In those days, old will grow young,
Flesh revived as in childhood.
Troubles are gone, from now on
No need to weep or fear.
Paradise all will enjoy
As they sing of God's glory.
Yes every day we will say
To God our Maker,Thanks!
Sing out with joy of heart
You too, can have a part.
Live for the day when you'll say
Life without end __at last!

All these things our loving Creator has promised us.

Cute! New agers would call what you lyrically describe in your poem as using a visualisation technique to calm and refresh yourself. Many hypnmosis induction techniques follow a similar route to creating an inner sanctuary.
