You are not obligated to pay for someone's accommodations if they made the choice to travel. Part of planning a trip is securing lodging, and confirming that it's available. You said you did not invite these persons to your home. Then they are not your guests, and you are not responsible for them. Also, when speaking to these travelers, do not refer to their presence as a "visit", but "their trip." Hopefully, they'll see the difference.

WOW ur so so so lucky....WOW!!! If you knew my family they would just pitch up and expect to stay over for the weekend..... F$%! any plans that I might have... The worst bit I usually end up giving up my bedroom and sleeping on the floor... I would have glady accept paying for a motel....but u dont have to
