No. The 10 commandments are law, so we know what sin is.

In a way, yes, and in a way, no.
No child would even think about touching the priceless antique vase if they didn't think it was offlimits. They would have their initial fun with it for a few moments, then get bored with it and go on to something else. But since it is a forbidden thing, there is a bit of a rush there, as rebellion tends to get the adrenaline going.
But, the fact is, is that the owner of the vase is still going to be upset if it's somehow ruined, whether the rule not to touch it had been made or not. If there is no rule, then the fingerprints from fiddling with it with paint-covered hands (which winds up irreparibly staining the vase) is enough to make it just as worthless as if the vase itself had been dropped and broken.
It is far better for the rules to have been set, instead of everything thinking it was quite okay to kill another person or steal their possessions, and then trying to hide their deed by lying about it... it is better to be in sin, and know where you've gone wrong so you can correct it, than to be in sin yet be oblivious to it.

There are many who do not know what the 10 commandments are. They take up the sinful activities and do as they like.
Some People do have the psychology to rebel against what they dont like. So if they want to rebel against christians, they will break those commandments on purpose.
But the 10 commandements are meant to help people give up sins.

The 10 commandments sets up impossible goals in order to make people feel guilty enough to have to go to church to be fixed up. It's how they keep converts in the pews spending money. It the spoon-fed rules makes people morally lazy and unable to really say what really makes something good or bad, by whatever interpretation. It leaves them with a blind-spot to true humanity.

I loving your neighbor even though they are Catholic, Jewish, Christian, Muslim or Protestant is a sin, then yes
here is an updated Alternative version
* Thou shalt shut thy gob when politely asked, and not drone on endlessly.
* Thou shalt not use circular arguments, such as "God exists, because the Bible sayeth so, and the Bible is True because it is God's Word."
* Thou shalt notice when thy audience is bored rigid. See Commandment 1.
* Thou shalt not use a cop-out such as "God worketh in mysterious ways" when backed into a corner by thine own convoluted logic.
* Thou shalt use thine own imagination, and not just quote from the Bible all the time.
* Thou shalt not tell atheists what they believe, nor that thy God loveth them.
* Thou shalt not get upset by jokes about thy God. He is big enough and old enough to looketh after himself.
* Thou shalt not define how thy God worketh. Thou canst not know.
* Thou shalt not state that the Bible is consistent and hath no contradictions. Thou wouldst be a fool to doeth so.
* Thou shalt not say Grace without also thanking the farmers, truck-drivers and shopkeepers that actually did the work required to get your food to the table.

God is not a hypocrite .He,she or it gave you free will, how then will he issue commandments to stop you to use that great gift. Please think. There were 10 commitments of God which if you follow will bring you closer to the power of God and you will be able to live more fully.Sin is an invention of religions not of God.
God is love.

Do you really think people see "do not commit adultery" and think, "Hey, that's a good idea, I'm going have some adultery"? No, those people would be having sex anyway, and they would not even know it was wrong.

like a mum telling a child not to touch ... the child wants to because he is curious to why mum is saying no
if there were no rules to go by ... would the rebellious be wishing to rebel ?
personally for me no it doesn't ... but i do think you may be right for some people
