your muscles make some reactions to perform motion.they use glucose and oxygen to produce energy.carbon-dioxide and water and ATP are product.if your muscles work too much,the blood can not supply enough oxygen for this process.so the muscles start to produce lactic-acid in them.the excess of lactic-acid causes cramp.this stress stretch the attach points of the muscles.so the cramp hurts so much

Cramp is a continuous contraction of a group of muscle fibers. It pains as the muscle fibers do not relax and metabolites accumulated need a lot of time to leave the tissue. Lactic acid is the main metabolite.

muscle tension, muscles tighten up and cramp u up.
U can use heat for cramps or eat a tab of salt.
Try sleepin in sleepin bag at night for less pains.
magnets relieve cramps, get one off the fridge and put on pain.

agree with above. some research has associated cramps with lack of Magnesium in the diet, and tiredness.
