People would be a lot healthier if they didn't eat ANY pre-processed foods. There is always something added that isn't good for you...from hydrogenated fats to dyes that can cause cancer, your factory processed food is just FULL of stuff that can contribute to ill health.
If you buy your foods in their raw state, or as close to raw as modern supermarket practices allow us, you will be much healthier and have less problems because of the loss of all those "additives".

If you can't say it try not to buy it. Watch out for supplements and other such stuff. Depending on what you are going for try to avoid artificial sugars and acids. Also avoid trans fats. Make sure to look at the whole label and always make sure what you are reading makes sense in what you are buying. For example Peanut Butter has Peanuts.... Peanut Butter wouldn't have something like Casein, which is from a cow and used in most cheeses. Try to avoid dyes and things along those lines. A good way to find certain dyes and stuff that could be bad is look at what is in a certain candy, such as shock tarts, these things should not appear in any of the foods you buy unless it is candy.

If the food label spelled ingredients the way you did, I wouldn't buy it.

I don't like to see "partially hydrogenated vegetable oil" or "monosodium glutamate." But you also have to think about fat and sugar content in general. If you see a long list of chemical names, you know you're dealing with an unnatural food.

I think people are too obsessed with too many details about practically everything. If you eat and do things in a moderate manner, you will do ok.

MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) originally a meat tenderizer, not to be gross, but it'll also tenderize your body.
Also any artificial coloring.
