Private gets their donations and expenses paid by individuals or companies. They get by on "donations".

Public Services are both private and non private, and can be offered by both local and central government and private organisations. A Statutory public serivce is one that is run by the government and has to be provided by the governmet by law e.g. the Police, a "private" or unstatutory public service is one that the government doesnt have to make or run due to laws and is usualy a charity or is funded by the monarchy (Queen and that) or buisiness sponsors e.g. RSPCA

Public service is funded by the government, private is usually a profit making business, that is not funded by government. I.e. hospitals are public and nursing homes are usually private
