I also had him checked with the doctor to see if he had an water infection and he hasnt, the doctor said there was not much he could do till he was 7. I dont know what to do, i wake him at night, yet he has wet his bed and hasnt woken up. Shall i out him back in pull-ups?

You should do what you feel is right for you and your son. Personally, I would put him back in overnights for another couple of months and try again. Children mature at different rates and it could just be its not quite ready yet. I think constantly changing his wet sheets would embarrass him and would be counterproductive. But, only you can assess what is most appropriate for your child. Good luck!

Yes, my son still wears them at night and he is 5.
I asked my doctor when do I address the issue and he said it could last until he is a teenager. My doc said it's hereditary. Come to find out my father-n-law did til he was a teenager. My doc also said no punishment and don't talk about it. It makes it worse. The only thing I make my son do is not drink after 6:30 and potty before bed. His best friend, who is also five has never had an accident. It can be frustrating, but every kid is different. Check with your family, I bet someone else had the same prob.
Best of luck!

Mine is way too young for me to give you advice on that one as she's still in pull ups at night, but if you don't want to be making the bed in the middle of the night, do the bed like so:
1 mattress protector
1 fitted sheet
1 mattress protector
1 fitted sheet

That way if he wets the bed, just pull the stuff out and he still has a dry bed to get back to and you don't stay up so long.
It also works for times when they are sick...

My brother stopped wetting the bed at 7 1/2, the first night my sister was sent on holiday camp. They'd never been apart. Seemed like he needed a shock of some sort.

Good luck

Well I'm a mother of a 7yr old boy and a 3yr old girl. Now my daughter has been potty trained since she was a year and half and has never once wet the bed, yet anyways. My son was harder to potty trained so he was about 3 yrs old when he finally was fully potty trained and he still at night sometimes has accidents. The best thing to do is not put him back in pull ups.It defeats the purpose of what your trying to break him out of.Try buying a protective cover for the mattress this will make him feel the wetness when he does wet the bed at night. He will get to the point that he doesn't like the feeling of being in a wet bed.Cut off his drinks a hour before bed. This will give him time to let his bladder get full and go to the bathroom.Make sure you have him go before bed. Also when you tuck him in remind him that when he feels like he need's to go to the bathroom to get up in the middle of the night.Sometimes there bladder just doesn't grow with there body.

Have you tried cutting off his liquids about 2 hours before bed? Make sure he gets plenty of liquids in the afternoon, but discourage drinking after dinner. Good luck!
I think it would be worse for him to be put back into pull ups at his age. Try the reward system and wake him up more frequently till the doctor can rule out physical problems.

I would reccomend the overnight pull-up type (Goodnights). They have a larger capicity and look more like underwear. It is absolutely normal for a young boy to experience this. For some reason, boy's bladders simply don't grow at he same rate as the rest of them. He will outgrow this eventually. My next door neighbor potty trained early, but wore Goodnights until he was 9. If he is doing well during the day, maintain what you are doing during the day, and try to not worry much about the night. The less of a big deal you make about it, the better he will adjust. Good luck to you.

no dont put him back in pull ups it will only shatter his confidence,my sister wet the bed up untill she was 15 yrs old,put a matress protector on the bed and the dry night sheets on top,if you try and make a game out of it like you did wen you potty trained it might encourage him a little better,my sister was a very heavy sleeper and she had a weak bladder hence the reason she was still wetting the bed at such a late age the doctor put her on pills but they didnt work.eventully she had a small operation just to tighten up her bladder.try not to give him any drinks 2 hours b4 bed time.

Nope I wouldn't put him back in pull ups that's defeating the object and hes passed them a long time ago - many children at that age still wet the bed - make sure you have protective sheets on the mattress - it sounds like he gets into a heavy sleep and cant wake himself when his bladder is full. Limit his drinks if you haven't done so already - make his last drink before bed time at least an hour before he goes and stick to this - he has enough time to do a few wees in this time so his bladder wont be full when hes sleeping. Don't give up and put the pull ups back on it will get better in time.

you will desire to video show the quantity of fluids he takes it in the process the day. My son did an identical element up until eventually some months in the past. I took a great, spillproof cup that has a lid and a straw to it. i will fill that up whilst he gets homestead interior the afternoon. That has to final him until eventually bedtime. additionally, I made him use the bathing room each and every hour that he became into homestead. This has helped lots!! whilst it rather is warm out and he's outdoors being lively, he will prefer extra to drink. in case you supply him extra, advance the bathing room breaks to each a million/2 hour or so. additionally, it would desire to be a discomfort for some weeks, yet set a separate "potty alarm". I set one for roughly 4 hours after he fell asleep and whilst it went off i might wake him as much as circulate use the bathing room. He understand is able to the two make it via the night w/out wetting or gets up on his very own. If not something like this works, then circulate see the Dr. He would have an lively bladder, small bladder or in all likelihood yet another form of scientific subject. solid success and shop your cool!!! it is going to take it slow and a few endurance. he's in all likelihood embarassed by potential of being his age and wetting his mattress. He in all likelihood would not sense comfortable drowsing at a pal's or relative's homestead and he's often occurring with he's lacking out on the exciting of that. wait and notice, supportive and awareness and it will bypass.

Put him back in the pull-ups and give yourself and him a break. No drinks an hour or so before bed, and lack of pressure and a bit of time should take care of the problem. If your Doctor isn't pushing, then let it go for now.
