Follow Christ.

I realize that sounds like a panacea, but having the knowledge that, in the end, it was all worthwhile, will put you at peace with the crap that goes on today. Every crime against you becomes more of a non-issue the closer you are with God, and every crime against another puts it into your heart the desire to rectify it on behalf of the criminal.

Trust in Christ, and you can truly be happy forever. Find him, and you can develop the faith and trust you desire to. Find a Christian, (yet realizing that we too are human), and in us, your faith and trust are less likely to be misplaced than with the average joe.

It's not everyone. There are people that has faith and don't want to cheat on others.
Trust and faith on the other hand isn't guaranteed to make you happy forever.

At 2 Timothy 3:1-5, the Bible states: “In the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power.” Does this not describe the attitude of people in general today? These words were penned in the year 65 C.E., over 1,900 years ago!
What does the Bible reveal about God’s purpose for the earth and mankind? It promises: “Just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more . . . 1,900 years to God is just a couple of days, (compare Numbers 14:34)
But "the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.” (Psalm 37:10, 11) “God himself will be with [mankind]. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:3, 4) “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”—Psalm 37:29. These promises must surely be due to be fulfilled. Be encouraged by jesus words in Luke 21:28

The answer to your question starts in the home with your parents, unfortunately the government has taken that authority away from mom and dad by actually encouraging young people to leave home! and that results in young people not having a home life that teaches values that older people remember. There is also a drug problem that young people find hard to avoid, due to peer group pressure on them. Another problem where mom and dad could have helped is when young people run away from home the authorities stop parents from finding out where they are! so they cannot stop their children from committing a folly they will regret all their lives! So the kids have to survive in a 'dog eat dog' environment, actively encouraged by the authorities!!! So where do they learn their values from? druggies, vagrants, and dropouts! Long live society!

I know other people will let me down. There is a struggle in every human heart between beauty and ugliness. I let myself down sometimes; so I can't expect other people not to. I give my trust cautiously, and know that the people in my life are not there to make me happy. We are here to support and love each other, but we're also here to annoy each other, because that is part of what helps us to grow and develop good character. I put my full trust in Creator to heal me when I do get hurt, and don't make happiness my goal in life. Happiness is attached to events, joy is attached to faith. Just my two cents worth. :)

According to the Buddha life by its very nature is suffering-even happiness is illusory in the material world because it is a pale reflection of the eternal bliss that awaits the enlightened. I believe that's true and unless you break the chains of material desires and pursue the spiritual path you are never going to find genuine, lasting happiness.

by first being the way one expects others to be towards them. I trust my friends and family without question. we all know there will be times when what we promise to do may take longer than first imagined but we know when we say we will do something it will eventually get done. if I believe the best in others I honestly believe I will receive the best from them, if I believe the worst in them then I shall receive the worst from them. one must first become the best person they can be to start this chain reaction.

the truth is, nobody can be 100% happy. Just look at the bright side of life. Cherish it while you still have it. What is the point of not enjoying life, then regretting that you didnt do so later on?

Ya ! I agree with you.

Its very difficult to maintain same kind of relation for ever. Always need some kind of boosting to maintain the relation or to develop the relation.
Boosting in the sense need to do creative in favour of other person.
