i dont know what culinary school youve been but it is not wether it is a man or a woman it is the indivual person themself ...if you want to be the best then you work harder to be the best...that statement is definetly from europe from back in the 50's when mainly all the chefs were men at the time...now adays it is getting close to be even...i know some excellent female chefs and would like some of their skills....

Wow, watch your mouth buddy!
My husband may very well be an excellent chef & pastry chef, trained in France, with almost 20 years experience, but there is not questions whatsoever that I am the better, more creative, and more efficient cook in this house! I don't cook for a living (I did go to school for it) simply because of my back problems...other jobs are safer for me.
Plus this way I get to enjoy cooking more, as it isn't work.

I disagree. The Best Cooks are women. The best chefs may be men.

I don't think your correct on that. It's just like everything else. Some are talented Chef's both male and female. Besides that each person will have a defination of who is the best. Your definiton would probaly be different then mine.

I have to agree with Jazz. while the ratio in the kitchens is still about 2 to 1 in favor of the male, women are making up the biggest influx of new clinicians. in the pastry shops that ratio is usually reversed.
