bless u for this question.
media has set fear in ppl and this fear causes ignorance against Islam, and thats why so violent views abt Islam, 'coz they don't wanna come near a Muslim person in their own community.
Like, when a kid is afraid of the boogeyman from the closet. parents always go and open the closet door, so the kid see for himself that there is No boogeyman in the closet, and feel relaxed and go to sleep. but, what if the parents don't open that closet door, i'll tell u what ... that kid is going to be imagining sthg that is totally NOT there out of his fear in mind, and will be afraid the whole night and won't get a good night sleep.
So, instead of being brainwashed by western medias like cnn, bbc, fox, nbc etc. etc., ppl should get out, and get to know the Muslims living in their community really well, to come to know of their life, The True Teachings of Islam, their thoughts and ideas of life. by doing this they will overcome their fear of Muslims and treat them like any normal human-being.
do u even know that some ppl consider all Muslims as, long bearded, one eye-brow, carrying a sword and wearing a huge robe. this is what ignorance causes that they don't view Muslims as any regular human-being.
As for the blowing up of themselves (Muslim) is concerned, Muslims there have adopted their own way (Not anything to do with Islam) of fighting against external forces, though its kinda sad way, but still tell me what will u do? when forces come to rape ur mother/sister/wife/daughter, and kill ur father/brother/son 'coz they were millitary-aged man, won't u feel like killing them even if u get urself killed in the act? i know its sad, and hopelessness is a sin which gives rise to suicide whict itself is a sin, but plz do consider their (local Muslims) feelings as well, when foreign (american) forces do so much torture, rape a girl and burn her to get rid of the evidences, torch the entire neighbourhood on just suspicion of 1-2 millitants in the area, get inside any house when feeling bored on christmas and have fun torturing the ppl there, and killing out of anger any civillian they set their eyes on if any of their (american) soldiers are killed (war causes casualities on both sides, but this doesn't give anyone the right to become savages and beasts). so how abt it? won't u feel the same anger, when u see these things happening infront of ur own eyes? just give it a thought and feel their (locals) pain 'coz we can't do any more than that.
Peace to All.

Actually, the only person to flush a Qu'ran at Guantanamo bay was a muslim. No non-muslim was involved. You might want to get your facts straight.
Although I am not a muslim and have no desire to leave the message and my discipleship of Jesus behind, I highly respect certain groups of muslims. I respect people who drop everything to pray five times a day. I highly respect Sufi mysticism especially, who understand the importance of taking the time to appreciate the majesty of God.
That said, I think many of us are made very nervous by some muslims - the ones who can (and do) quote the Qu'ran's Sura 4:89 to justify flying planes into buildings, blowing up Shiite mosques and Hindu temples, and who scream "death to the Jews!" during riots in Pakistan. We are always going to be anxious about people who despise us as "kafirs", and won't rest until we convert to Islam, or pay the jizya and wear yellow collars, and/or die.
You need to understand that we will not allow that to happen. If Muslims want a better image in the west, they really need to rein in these elements within their religion, and bring out the best you have to offer - like the 99 names of God. You do have a lot to offer humanity, if you can first get rid of the wingnuts.

Hi, this isn't the right website to ask this, it is full of haters. You see, young people are very mediatized and can only see wrong in muslims because of some idiotic bombers who aren't even muslim. Should we say that christians are murderers since the oklahoma bomber was a christian? I only mention one of the many killers who claim to be christian or even do it for the religion. Should we say christianity is to blame? Don't take it the wrong way, christianity is not the right religion, but it doesn't create those killers and neither does islam. People do crazy things and there is no religion to blame. If people would read the words from God instead of the words of ignorants, they would understand.

Because the non muslims know that Islam is the true way to life. Muslims dont insult other prophets or books because the Quran teaches us to respect all prophets of God. When people are afraid of something, they turn their fear into insults, hatred, racism an dthen they sit in their holes and think "Why does everybody hate us"....

However keep in mind, there many comics and etc made about Jesus too. However, the minute I see something degrading of my religion, I don't think, who can I blow up now to show those Arabs who's who. Now yes I know the standard speech "Your average Muslim isn't like this" However I just find it odd how violent the religion can be, extremsit or not. There is no way that the Bible interprets it that you should show violence towards your enemy.
However, I can see clearly where terrorist would get the definintion from the Koran that its ok to blow people up in defense of their religion.
The Pope quoted the Byzantium emperor... so what? I have to say if someone insults you and tells you, you are violent... I would think that the reaction would be opposite of "HEY LETS MAKE DEATH THREATS!"

Like Catholocism,Islamics want to convert the whole world, and while I accept that some moslems just want peace-it's undeniable that out of Islam come the worst atrocities our world today has known, they have no compunction about blowing up their own people if it suits their insane purposes, and all in the name of their god.Catholics, although they want to convert the world do not even contemplate such barbarism.Although it is popular to blame the US for the worlds problems by ignorant left wingers, the US is NOT the bad guy.PS-I am not American but am pro American,in reality where would we be without them? They have donated trillions to help others, and got spat on in return.

The Muslims i know do not blow buildings or people up and have no intention of doing so..I..

I am not afraid of Islam, I am working with a young muslim man who is intelligent, cultured, well mannered, kind & sensative.
He is a credit to his parents, his faith & our country, it is a joy to have him & his family live in our country.
I fear for the extreme forms of Islam that encourage men & women to harm others & themselves in the name of Islam.
They must stopped at all costs.

You need to get your facts straight. No one flushed a Koran in a toilet in Guantanamo. The Pope did not insult Islam (read his speech in full, not just the quote he made). Dutch cartoons were political, not religious. True, America liberated the Iraqi's, and they liberated all Iraqi's - Sunni's, Shiites, Kurds, Christians, etc.
I don't personally know of anyone afraid of Islam. I know that people fear the extremists who kidnap people and like to slit their throats on video. They fear the extremists who manipulate the facts so that people kill nuns, or attack churches. That's what they fear, but alas, this is probably falling on deaf ears.

There are two sides to every story, I dont believe there is a victim group and a perpetrator group. Both sides are fueling the fire.
I wish there were no religions, then Id get to live in a happy and peaceful world, where I didnt have to hear about it :-)
