No. Racism is against the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church:

Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.

The equality of men rests essentially on their dignity as persons and the rights that flow from it:

Every form of social or cultural discrimination in fundamental personal rights on the grounds of sex, race, color, social conditions, language, or religion must be curbed and eradicated as incompatible with God's design.

With love in Christ.

The biggest racists in history have been Catholic. The Crusades, The Spannish Inquisition, The Holy Roman Empire, The Jesuit Order,The mafia. After all, there are only Catholics in Heaven - or so they tell me.

Why would a Catholic be more or less likely?

Personally, I'd say that nobody should be a racist in an enlightened age, but that it "makes sense" in that I can understand why people are - it's rooted in ancient genetic mechanisms to favour kin over strangers.

No. It does not make sense. But then, nor should a catholic be a child abuser, but some of them are.

The thing with catholics is that they can go to Confession on a Sunday to have their sins forgiven. The rest of the week they can be as bad as they like, and God does not mind - or so they think !

You mean like the Pope and his recent comments on Islam and Muslims? To me it makes perfect sense for reactionary bigots to be racist.

If you're racist, with any luck you'll pay for it, regardless of religion. What is race and religion to a multicultural economy with a common goal for law and order.

I used to think it was completely against christianity. But all i ever hear from them (politically) is Israel can do whatever they like because they are "the chosen people". This definately has an element of racism in it as it implies that they are superior to other races.
