Well, I am not qualified to grade yet. BUT, sadly,that is the way teachers grade especially in higher levels such as universties and cambridge exams.
It's true that some people get better grades than they should have due to the shape of the "bell"(do not know exact spelling) curve. However,there are cases where people get worse grades than they should have. Their grades are pulled down due to the curve.If there are many people getting great results, the lousier of the great results will be pushed down. It works like a double-edged sword basically.
The "bell" curve makes it easier for student to pass but harder to score but it depends on the chort. However, it does not mean you will surely pass.If your grades are really poor,there will be no way for the curve to pull your grades up to a pass grade.Hence, ganbatte!!!Good luck with your studies.=)
