You have to remember how expensive it is just to get into space.
It is something on the order of $20,000 per kg (2.2 lbs). Just getting her into orbit was over a million dollars not including the clothing, food, water, etc that she had to bring just to sustain her for a few days. Since she was going on the ISS, she had to get basic cosmonaut training and had to get cleared by the doctors. The training cost a few more million dollars. She needed a custom made seat for her return voyage on the Soyuz like the other cosmonauts require. Also, since space on the Russian Soyuz is at a premium, her place there meant less things that were needed could go. They would have to be sent later via a Progress supply ship. Plus of course you have to give the Russians a little profit.
So no, I don't think she was paying too much. That is because I know the real cost of space flight for going through one of the space agencies. The space agencies are inefficient, but they are currently all we have until the private sector takes over.

She is rich..there is no regular service yet!...& early adopters always pay more. Just think how much mobile (cell) phones or TVs cost when they first appeared on the market...it'll probably take quite a few decades for it to become reasonably affordable.

I think rich people will pay for anything crazy regardless of the amount of money. I'd say its money well spent because who really knows when normal people earning a normal wage will be able to fly to the moon. So lucky her.

It is an obscene amount of money to waste on such a thing. Imagine how much good charities and other such organisations could do with all that money.
