Having traveled through Europe and the UK as well as Ireland and the Middle East I am happy to report that so far I have not come across a City with as spectacular natural scenery as Cape Town.

And then of course the citizens of Cape Town and surrounds are welcoming and friendly which is also a positive in favor of the Cape.

The restaurants are easily on a par with any I have eaten in anywhere I have traveled if not better and the shopping (especially the Waterfront) equals anywhere in the world.

In short not a bad place to visit or live.

You seem to be expressing an opinion rather than asking a question. Cape Town does have natural beauty but so do many other great cities in the World. The problem with Cape Town at the moment is the criminality which it makes it almost impossible for people to enjoy it to it's full extent. When it normalises,if ever, them maybe you can make such a claim. What is the point in having a great City if it is dangerous to visit and dont tell me all Cities are dangerous or crime is everywhere. Visit some of the truly great Cities of the World then you will understand.

This is the reason
DISASTER MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE
This conference brings disaster management professionals from across Africa to the disaster-affected Southern Cape. Call it coincidence or fate – but the Disaster Management Conference, taking place at the Hartenbos resort in the Eden District from 13-14 September 2006, is in the heart of an area that suffered severe damage due to extensive flooding and mudslides in the past month.

New appointments to the Executive Management Team announced
New appointments to the City's top management team, now called the Executive Management Team, have been announced by Councilor Belinda Walker, Mayoral Committee member for Corporate Services. Members of the previous Ikhwezi team have been retained, and three new Executive Directors have been appointed, two from inside on one from outside the organisation.

Africa Aerospace & Defence 2006
Africa’s largest aerospace, defence, and security exhibition is moving to what many have called the world’s most beautiful city. Africa Aerospace & Defence – AAD 2006 – will be held in Cape Town from 20-24 September. Air Force Base Ysterplaat, against the backdrop of Table Mountain, will provide the setting for the only exposition of its sort in Africa and will feature more than 400 exhibitors from at least 25 countries. Come and visit this exciting exhibition and the City of Cape Town stand, in Hanger 4, at the event.

Opportunity knocks for the City's staff
Staff of the City of Cape Town were recently exposed to career and training opportunities during a learning festival set up as part of the City's commitment to the National Skills Development Strategy.

Stone Throwing
The City of Cape Town in partnership with the provincial Community Safety department and the South African Police Services (SAPS) has deployed 92 police officials and 46 patrol vehicles on the routes affected by the stone-throwing.

not only this its also because of its beauty and welcoming hearts there

Cape Town is such a great place because you have one the most beautiful scenery's in the world, what with table mountain and some of the nicest beaches around, once you on top of table mountain you can see the coast line from Melkbosstrand to Hout bay which is well over 50km long, you can also seen the famous Robben Island.
I think if I had to compare cities it will have to Rio Genaro

Cape Town might be greener and cleaner, but Durban is bustling, and I prefer Kwazulu's sunny winters, to the "Cape Doctor's" blowing, any day!
But CT is defiantly known worldwide for it's beauty. Most backpackers I meet in London, either have been, or are planning to go.
