You may be referring to a visa application, if you are in travel...It depends on where you want to travel to, and type of visa you applied for, some countries won't allow you to aplly for a period of 3months after initial refusal and for USA for example it's 6months period. And in any way, I don't think they will be the one contacting you for re-application, you should be the one doing that. Get informed at the Ambassy you applied for visa, they will tell you.
