No way, they are fat cats who take what they want and don't give a stuff about the working man, my hubby's company has had a pay freeze for 4 years now and last week they offered them one and a half per cent, well yipeedo what is that going to do for us, everything has gone up drastically all except wages, so unfair.

Pay is tied to value added. If you feel you have increased the value added by your productivity in the last two years screw the freeze and go make your case. If that isn't successful test your value in the market and go look for another job. The government's pay increases have little relevance to yours unless the two reflect the larger compensation issues in the private and public sectors.

Nope. If you work for a private firm you need to get onto them.Its not the Governments fault

I have no proof, but my positive reaction is that every job, hourly/and or salary, classified neatly ensconced under state, or federal payroll, has received more than the average american in so-called "cost-of-living" allowances. Challenge my statement with documented proof -- Go Ahead......
