It isn't the devil's number, it's the antichrist number...
It's written in the Apocalyse of St. John, the antichrist will wear the number 666 written on its head.

It is the number identified in the Biblical book of Revelations to be satans number and has been accepted as such. I do not recall there being an explenation in the Bible of why but I know that there has been lots of human theories.

Not sure really, but in that Arnie movie End of Days it's supposed to mean 1999, and he's the Governator so it must be true.

in the Bible, book of revelations it states[ to paraphrase] "the beast has a number, and the number is 666..." now why that number???? one can only speculate... maybe you could ask the wearer of that #.. cheney /bush
