Firefox is a superior product anyway so I would continue using. As for your computer being very slow - clean out all your temporary internet files, empty your recycle bin check for spyware/viruses and defragment your hard drive. Try the microsoft website for help on why IE is not working - cannot advise any further because I do not know your versions of Windows and IE.

Your IE is corrupted......All u need to do is go to the control panel n repair ur IE it will work.....check ur CPU useage....u can do that by hittin ctrl+alt+del it will show under performance. The lower it is the better it is. If it is high close sum of the programes runnin n the back ground. If this does not help you need to scan ur comp is seems ur comp has a virus., thats the reason its runnin slow....i had the same prob ended up reinstallin windows.

Run the free AV/Spyware checker on this site, it will scan your machine, as it does sound like you have an virus or spyware of some sort.

go onto symantec and type in trojan horse.
they're quite serius.
my mum's computer completley broke and lost her memory because of this.

You probably download way too much stuff or check the most recent documents you used or downloaded. That's probably the problem.

if you don't use adaware'se.. download it free from its own website, install and scan your PC once a week...also try this:
you need to go to control panel/ network and Internet options/ Internet options/ advanced/restore defaults...
also, try control panel/performance and maintenance/system restore and reset the computer to a earlier date.....g/luck
