Jason Cooke left the show to pursue other things. Rather than do away with Shawn on the show, they decided to just replace him.

Brandon Beemer is here to stay for now playing the role of Shawn-Douglas Brady. Jason Cook's contract ended and he decided not to renew to pursue other things.
I like Cook better but I will say that I like the Shawn transaction a lot better then that of Belle. I still can't get used to Martha Madison and really don't like Belle anymore because of Madison. Oh well we shall see...

Sorry to say, he is the new Shawn.. The old one quit, and the new one is here to stay.. I don't really like him either, he just doesn't fit the part.
