Yes I do. Kids are often growing up with both parents working. There is not as much structure in thier life. Many kids don't have responsibilities not even to themselves. This is not all the part of environment, although some of that is to blame. Also the violence that is shown on TV and in the movies. The attitude that it is alright to cheat and lie and steal as long as you don't get caught as evidenced by our politicians and business leaders. Morals are in the toilet, if it feels good "do it, is the watch word. First of all what can be done about it. We need to establish rules as a family first and then as a society. Wrong is wrong and will be dealt with harshly. Bring back punishment in the schools followed by punishment at home. I know growing up if i got in trouble at school it was just a mere taste of what happens when i get home. If children are taught right from wrong and know the consquences of thier actions they will do right. But, this has to start with the family unit. If they see that adults can lie, cheat and steal or worse and get away with it , what kind of message is being sent. Children growing up in this age, have a lot of the same pressures that I did growing up in the 50's and 60's, but they also have the pressure of a society that wants everything and they want it now. Instant gratification is what is in waiting is out. Just my observations and opinons and you know what they say about opinons.

Mr Gravy and the clown who answered after him really should learn to read the question properly.
What can be done about it and who? WE can do something about it. WE can behave in a reasonable manner, with honesty and integrity and act as an example to others. Those of us that have children can teach our children to behave properly.
Not all of the kids today are violent, uncaring or selfish. I'm pretty sure that every generation has been criticised in this way since time immemorial.
Wringing your hands and saying how awful it all is will solve nothing. True, there will always be undesirable elements in society, but the less of us that capitulate to the vision of a violent and uncaring world, the better the world around us will be.

I do feel sorry for all kids including my own about the violence and the world in general for them. They have the best technology and resources these days, but they don't use it in a positive way. I think that I have heard it classified as the "Me Generation" and that is true.
As far as violence and other issues of the world, I had it much better than my children when I was growing up, and I try to provide them with the best foundation I can.

Yes I do. Sometimes I question whether or not I should have had a child at this time when the whole world is full of cruel people and day by day it gets worse. I'm scared for my childrens future.

I feel sorry for my own kids. No matter how decent they are brought up, they still have to live around violent thieving imbeciles.
If i'd thought a bit more, i don't think i would have had them. I feel like i've placed them in danger from the day they were born.

You just described the kids in my neighborhood, violent, uncaring and selfish. No I do NOT feel sorry for you. Your generation has a lot more to offer you spoiled brats than mine did.
