Zenith means 'the highest point'.
Astronomically, it means that the sun(in this case), or any other heavenly body is directly above the observer and 90 degrees from all points on that person’s horizon .

I would imagine that in this situation, zenith could be replaced with peak, and that perhaps there is some sort of differential analyzer that helped reach that. I unfortunately know little about computers.
