Because whatever you type in the search engine, the information is obviously on there.

I have just used Yahoo with bt web site as the search words and didn't see wikipedia listed. The BT website is www.bt.com

I haven't got a clue what you're doing wrong - I've tried several search engines and all I get is details for the BT website.

Thought you could guess that one. Though I must add searching on the BT website is horrifically bad and frustrates me.

wikipedia.org has many entries, and many clearly have a high google score for your particular searches. To categorically exclude wikipedia entries from your search results, add the string

-site=wikipedia.org

to your search.
