not really fired, but the company went bankrupt and we all lost our jobs.

it was Enron and I'm really enjoying seeing the crooks get put away.

I was let go by an employer a few years ago because the manager did not like me and they cooked up some lame excuse to fire me. But it actually worked out well. I got a better job and that company went out of business. So keep your chin up. Things happen for a reason.

I was working at a place where we were working 9.5 hour days than they had us working saturday as well than some sundays. I was doing alot of work at home witha home business and had to get out early once in a while. Well one day I wanted to leave and the supervisor was acting like a kid all mad all day. I told him I have to go and he responded with go ask so and so( boss over him) which I did and got permission. Next day he had a conversation with him and got me fired. Mind you he told me to go ask. Anyway I think it was for the best.

It is a terrible situation and makes you feel real bad but always look forward. Think of the negative things at the job you got fired from it always helps with seeing a place with beter future.

I was given a severe reprimand and told that if I didn't change my ways in 3 months I would be dismissed. I was constantly bugged by my boss. The reason, I spotted him out with a woman that was not his wife and he saw me.
He used the loss of my job as a way of keeping me quiet.
I found another job and tendered my resignation and he heaved a sigh of relief. On my last day I reported the affair to his boss and telephoned his wife. He was kicked out of his home and was unable, because of his age to get another job.
A few years later he applied for a job and I was the interviewer as it was my company. I employed him and payed him the lowest salary possible. He gave of his very best and I made him a minority partner.
We are now good friends and his ex wife I discover was into her 5th affiar at the time of the first incident.

I took a trip out to meet my biological family for the first time when I was 48 years old. I had to find a replacement for myself for that week. I did and she didn't show up for work for 2 days because she went out and got drunk the night before. When I arrived back to work I had gotten fired. But it was worth it, How often do you find your family after being adopted out at birth and your name had been changed? You can always get another job.

Once.
The better one was when I gave my two weeks and then put "take this job and shove it" by the Dead Kennedys on the store's cd player for the better part of the day.
Make sure you have another job already though, that way it won't matter if your let go that day.

Yep...boss came in one day, said he was closing the company. Made us sign a termination of employment agreement and packed our things and had to leave by end of business next day.
Was horrible and he was lying, which we found out later and because it was so rushed we signed the darn agreement before getting it checked out.
One of the worst experiences of my life!!
