A muslim becoming prime minister of India is very unlikely. Pakistan exists because of a religious war between Hindus and Muslims. The Hindus in India don't tolerate other religions even Christians.

Why not? In India today where the predominant population is Hindus, we have a Sikh Prime Minister, Muslim President and a Christian the leader of the oldest political party. Can any of India's neighbours boast of a similar situation. For any one in India to reach the top, the country should come first before their religion, caste, creed, etc.,

I think all the indicator says yes.

Few years ago India proved to the world that, it is capable of electing most suitable person to any post by democratic process.

To-day it has two highest office occupied by non Hindu. Hindu as you know have approximately 95% majority.

The president is Muslim, he is just a figure head. However in the time of emergency precedent can exercise his/her powers that are more powerful then any absolute Monarch.

Prime minister is a Sikh(also a non Hindu).

Why not?. 90% of the Indian populaion is secular and they are capable of selecting their own leader. The biggest problem with Indian Muslims is they have become puppets in the hands of few cronies who are projected as Muslim leaders. They have developed a second class citizen's attitude and have failed to realise that India is their nation and they have to partcipate in the process of nation building of 1.2 billion people.

Sonia Gandhi, a christian can be the next PM and her faith is different from her duty. Mr.Abdul Kalam is a very good example. He is above religion. If every Muslim can take him as a role model then definitely he/she can reach any position they want. Indian Muslims should also understand that 700 years before, their forefathers were Hindus and they should know to respect the values and sentiments of Hindu brothers.

If you think Muslim first and India next, then you remain at first and forget the rest.

Muslim youth are getting out of the clutches of self seeking fundamentalist clergy. Now they stop looking to extra territorial interference. Kashmir will be a peaceful part of India. Muslims in Pakistan seperate into Punjab,Sind , Baluchistan and Pathans and opt to undo partition. The most popular muslim will be P.M.of undivided India or Akhand Bharat.

Don't you know ?
Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed , Zakir Hussain, and Abdul Kalaam (Present ) became Presidents of India, man!
Why then can't a muslim NOT occupy the second highest place? Of course he can! Find a suitable man, and let us ALL vote him into the PM's chair!
