There are many causes for body odour - some of which have simple solutions. For instance, inadequate bathing can lead to body odour, but that can remedied by simply improving your hygiene. Women who are menstruating also have to pay careful attention to their hygiene.

Another common cause of body odour is a combination of perspiration and bacteria. Your body is home to at least two million eccrine glands, which are responsible for the salty liquid sweat that cools you down when you get hot. That liquid is odourless, but it creates a moist environment in which bacteria grow and thrive. When the bacteria mix with the apocrine gland secretions, the resulting liquid has an offensive smell.

In rarer cases, body odour can be caused by other health problems including diabetes, liver dysfunction and digestive difficulties. Some people also find they impart an unpleasant odour after eating certain foods - such as garlic, fish, cumin, eggs, peanuts and curry, which can remain in the body's secretions for several hours.

On the outside of the body it's usually dirt and sweat and on in the inside it could be a metabolic imbalance or just food like garlic. If you know someone experiencing foul body odor, tell them to try different deodorants until one works and bathe regularly, even sometimes two to three times a day if necessary.

Body odor is caused by bacteria on sweat. The best deodorant ever is a natural rock crystal which you get damp and rub on after your shower. Conventional anti - persperants have really bad chemicals in them.

Proteins from the food you eat, but those proteins are only secreted through the sweat glands in your armpits so that's why they smell so bad if you don't bathe. Other parts of you sweat, but it doesn't usually smell that bad if you bathe daily. : )
