NATO troops are fighting in Afghanistan now. Taliban lost terrority 5 years ago and have been gradually winning it back ever since. They have extremely radical beliefs, but it's not irrational for them to fight NATO troops when on the whole, they are winning.

Define insanity:

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. The Taliban keep doing the same thing but they are expecting a victory. They are foolish and primitive.

I love my country. We are at war with them. Provocation is one of their goals. We have been bumping heads with them for years. Now we are scratching ours..........In a fight, your goal is to hurt the opposition. Don,t forget we are in a fight and have scars and bruises.

they want to regain a political hold on their territory, meaning the area they live in, it will continue because eliminating them would be genocide and that's just not allowed
