As you've planted you question in psychology I presume you are not talking about the external world, but our own internal world?

So what do I hear? I hear the conflict inside of me as the war rages. Part of me wants to charge forward into the world to make a difference, but a deeper voice urges me to stay here with myself.

Stay here 'in the now' only here is inner peace, to rush forward is to try and escape, but I can never escape from the fear, only by remaining with myself can I confront it and and allow it to dissolve like the sun burning off the morning mist.

Why, what do you hear?
