Over here in the UK, there's a drama show coming on soon about "what would happen if Bush was assassinated." What do YOU think would happen if he was?

lol OK before I get roasted alive here, cool your jets folks - I'm asking what would happen like who would take over, what would the world consequences be etc etc - I'm NOT advocating killing anyone: like there hasn't been enough of that already?

We Americans would get angry. Those who dislike the President still don't want him to be killed. Acts like this tend to unite a people instead of fractionating it.
Depending on who was responsible our reaction as a nation would be drastic. Keep in mind. If Bush was killed Cheney takes over. He is more of a hard liner.

I think America would see an even more dramatic shift to the right. A president/dictator couldbecome installed and any naysayers could be accused of allegiance to the assassins. Bullyboy political tactics currently emloyed would increase exponentially. Several South american socialist countries would be blamed for the attack, their leaders removed and "Democracy" (read, neo-con capitalism) would be installed and enforced. I'm thinking oil rich Venezuala MIGHT be high on the list. As a tribute to his predecessors legacy the new prez would, live on TV wipe his ar$e with the Kyoto treaty, before ordering the destruction of £5,000 mile of rainforest in order to provide the paper for a new leaflet drop for GM!
Hmmm! Maybe Bush aint so abad after all! lol

No one wants this, of course. If Bush died, Vice President Dick Cheney would be sworn in and would serve out Bush's term. He would appoint a Vice President to fill his vacant slot. The new VP would likely be nominated by the Republican Party to run for President in 08. Cheney has said he'd like to retire from public service at the end of this term in 08. But after actually holding the office of President, it's possible he would change his mind and would run.

The assassination of ANY US president would be a tragedy, whether we love or hate that president. It's an attack on the whole government, on all of us.
With everything going on, I really fear someone will try. I pray I'm wrong. I'm sure the Secret Service (the president's protection force) is keeping an eye out.

Dick, blood for oil, Chaney would become president.
