The Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn NW6 is great:

Its a theatre and around the corner is a little cinema, id highly reccomend both.

The Tricycle was always my favourite when I lived in North West London, however, I also loved the Phoenix in East Finchley - check out their official site for the latest films: http://www.phoenixcinema.co.uk/
Time Out voted it the 6th best cinema in the whole of London, so it must be good!

the tricycle cinema, buckley rd kilburn nw6. shows world films on a fridays 14.30hrs. £4 for your ticket & a cup of tea. Is an excellant cinema. paul m.

get TIME OUT, they always list arthouse movies.
