Most companies, selling canoes and small boats, in the States only ship in the States. Thus I need to organise a personal shipment; and that is my problem.

The canoe I want to buy is manufactured in Germany, exported to the States and sold for, depending on the exchange rate, for more-or-less 2 times cheaper than in the UK… beats me how it’s done but its true! If I spend £400 (which is pretty much) on shipment it will still be cheaper to do so than to buy it in the UK! It’s crazy!

I think there are agents who will fill a container with freight from a number of persons. Sounds an economical way to ship something like this.
Suggest you try ones who transport cars from US to UK and start from there?

By the time you have paid customs import duties and what-have-you, you'd be better off buying a canoe here in the UK or at least in the European Union. I wouldn't advise importing anything large and/or expensive from the United States at all.

Air freight charges would be massive. You're looking at courier services like FedEx or DHL, but it will be VERY expensive. I wouldn't even like to guess.
