Sometimes when some young people complain about all their problems, I ask them whether they would rather be coming of age in 1940 -- the Nazi's had total control of Europe except for the parts ruled by Stalin, the Spanish Fascists, and Mussolini and the one little island of Britain which was getting its butt kicked. The whole of the Orient was under attack by a fanatical and aggressive Japanese military machine who were about to totally humiliate the USA at Pearl Harbor and in the Philippines.
And the United States had virtually no military force worth mentioning (for an account of how powerless we were, read Dwight Eisenhower's "Crusade in Europe")
Every time has its dangers. I think the dangers we face now are more manageable in many ways that the dangers in the past when we didn't know enough to anticipate and control our fate.

TOTALLY agree.
it has got so bad that i am contemplating on whether or not to have kids. why should i have kids for this society only to fu*ck them up with all the bullying and insecurities of trying to look like a fu*cking celeb.
The wars and political wars going on is going to get worse. Look how bad it has got since 2001, its a nightmare come true. Racist remarks everyday, racist murders and blatent fat cats making money when some are so poor, they find it hard to feed themselves, let alone a family.
Children in school should be taught lessons about feelings and why people react in certain ways. Theyshould be made to understand that feelings are ok and natural, and teach them how to react to feelings, being angry is ok, but being angry and acting on it and killing someone is not. When will the government learn that the generations of children are worsening and no one is doing anything to stop it. Babies are having babies and metal is starting to talk, according to the muslims, this is when the world is supposed to end. and it shore feels like something has got to give. We live in a society of murderers, rapists, pedos, and fu*ked up kids which are sadly our future. More should be done to protect the children on this earth, way more.
There is not one person that can honestly say they havent been a victim of some kind of abuse or torment, and are happy to walk down the road late at night.
Also, look at the planet and how we are damaging it, carbon thingy. The world is a complete and utter mess.

Yes, but all ages have been dangerous. Name the age and you will always find human nature making life difficult for most people. Being safe is nothing more than an illusion - it never existed before and I doubt it ever truly will. As long as human nature prevails we will have to deal with the penalties and pleasures of that same nature.

You might say that! Fragmented societies are flying apart, traditional answers no longer work and the speed and extent of technological change has far outstripped society's ability to cope. It seems that more and more, small groups of people rather than nation states are dictating change.
( But, Marty, to try to blame all this on Hillary Clinton has to be nominated as one one the dumbest answers.....)

no different than any other. Each generation see it's time as the worst. As time goes on we will always have conflicts and come up with more ways to kill each other. This was a true 100 or even a thousand years ago.

Yes. liberalism threatens our survival, and there's a big danger of Hillary Clinton trying to get elected. If that happens, we're finished.

we live in a disasterous age. most people have to go through them once or twice though. so the government owes a trillion dollars and we will have to cough it up. the dollar will probably devalue so much a trillion dollars will buy a bag of dogfood. worse things have happened.
