You can be a critical in a positive and constructive way. appraise the good points and point out things that could have been done differently. there is nothing wrong with that.
it is pretty boring if everybody agrees with everybody.

You should be in tune with yourself. Have a strong sense of your likes and your dislikes. In that way, if you see someone, there's bound to be something you strong feel against. That's one step to be a critical person.
However, you must be a give constructive criticisms rather than condescending ones. That makes you a better critique.
Access what you don't like about this subject matter and say it out what you don't like about it and how it can improve. That way, you should be a step closer to being a critical person.

Critical does not necessarily mean negative.
Whenever you hear or see something or someone, think of how it can be done differently/better.
My use of concord is SCARY (BAD), and when you speak to me, you can make a point of assisting me in getting it right. You might critically examnine the conditions in the lecture room. Is it too cold, too hot, overcrowded, too noisy.
Look at everything, and ask yourslef HOW can it be done different. The ART to criticism is not to give offense or insult. good luck.

Whatever you criticize, you had better "know your stuff", with facts, etc... Essentially, if you want to succeed in communications, do a great deal of research, as I can see you will not survive a heated discussion without a "Fountainhead" of knowledge.

Do you see other people good points--and praise them-- when you criticize or not ?
If yes, you're a critic ; if not, you're a carpic critical person, a covert hostility person!
