I am 35 weeks pregnant and experiencing severe heart burns. I tried soda water and it help me digest my food, specially at night. But I fear that it may not be recommended for pregnant women. Can I continue drinking it or should I stop right away ? ( I am already a medicine for the heart burn, gaviscon, but it has little effect on me)

it should not be a problem. Other than the carbonation making you kind of bloated/gassy. It shoudl be fine, and if it works it is extra great! those tablet antacids work decently also, like the girl above said, TUMS is good. But do not use a liquid form. The pharmacist told me that it is not good for pregnancy.

I am about 30 weeks pregnant and i have the same problem.I think the best solution is to avoid fried food and if you must take then avoid drinking cold water after them.I dont know the effects of soda water but i think you should ask your doctor about this since pregnancy is not something we would like to risk.I also remeber during my first pregnancy i took about 2 bottles of beer cos i was annoyed when i was about 8 months and 2 weeks gone and i went into labour after a few hours making me deliver my baby 2 weeks early. So i advice you be careful.I wish you a safe delivery

Technically no. Soda has sodium or salt in it and could make you carry fluids. Seltzer has no salt even with the indisputable fact that the carbonation in it can make you lose bone mass. I too get very drained of even artificially sweetened beverages and throw caution to the wind and drink flavored seltzer water besides. in simple terms note that it may reason damage. I drink ice tea with none sweetener fairly some the time in the course of the day even as caffeine received't difficulty me. The tea has some homes that are think to be suitable for you and don't have the calcium reducing dispositions.

Soda water may make it worse! It's not gonna hurt the baby if you drink it so if you still want to go ahead. Try eating many small meals instead of large ones. You have heartburn because the baby is so big now that your uterus is pushing up on it. This makes it smaller and makes normal amounts of acid to come up the throat. Eating small meals will help greatly. Also, Tums works great and has needed calcium.

Soda water is not bad in pregnancy but for heart burn its not recommended to drink it!!! Rather try something like milk. Gaviscon worked for me. Maybe you should try the lozenges!

It's just water with bubbles - there's nothing wrong with it. It's not medicine or anything.

Try plain yogurt for heartburn. And when you're in bed, lay on your left side. It won't bother you as much. There's a little crook in the esophagus and if you're on your left side, the acid can't come up as much.

try to eat some puffed rice cake or if you are not vegan eat a little bit of chees, that can sooth the heartburn. if you choose to take some heartburn aids, choose ones that are natural, ones that contain calcium, like Tumbs:)
