On any gold sold in the US the karat content must be stamped on the piece. So, look at it and find it. If it is not there, it is not gold.

By its stamp or a jeweler can tell you by doing a small test on some of the material. You can not see it with the naked eye.

look on the under side of the ring, or if its a necklace look by the clasp and it should say it

not true. i have a number of gold rings with no hallmark, bu they are still gold
