Suffice for what?

If you want to get there, get accommodation, and get yourself to your first pay packet - you'll have to be very careful with your money.

Will you be a salaried employee, or are you going as a private contractor? Remember that self-employed workers can sometimes have to wait an extra 30 days to be paid after the first invoice, so you'll need two months' spends.

Will you have time to arrange accommodation before you go, and can the company you'll be working for set you up with somewhere? It can take a while to get a place in Germany (the system is very different) and if you'll be living in hotels until then. that gets pricey very quickly. The best would be if you could rent a room off a colleague or something and wait until you've got cheques coming in before you start paying out deposits, months of rent in advance etc.

Will you have to buy any equipment for yourself? Remember to budget for that too if you'll need it up front.

You should definitely get yourself a book on living/working in Germany, to find out all the things you ought to do (eg registering as a foreign worker).

UPDATE (on reading your update)
If you've got no other expenses, and don't have to worry about accommodation, you should be fine. Just don't eat (and drink) out every night (having eaten hundreds of meals in German restaurants, this won't be a sacrifice, trust me!), and be generally sensible. Cost of living is slightly higher than the UK but not massively so.

If you mean is it a good monthly salary ... it wouldn't be, but with accommodation included it's not too shabby.

When going to work abroad you have to consider several things.
1. Is accommodation provided?
2. Health insurance?
3. Are you going to adapt to the German way of life, or will you be buying Heinz baked beans, English marmalade, British cheeses, English sausages and Real Ale?
4. What is your tax status going to be?

You can get by with Euro 2,500 per month, but you won't be putting much in the Bank.

It will be enough for you to live there as a generic life, you will not save any money, the least I will go for is 7,000.00 EUR.
2,500.00 EUR is about 3,160.00 U.S Dollars.
