The problem with organised religion is you end up believing what 'Man' wants you to think god wants you to believe. All organised religion is a system of indoctrination. You might not like it but that is what it is. You can only truly keep your mind and options open if you avoid organised religion. Come back to me if you want any more info. Regards. N

Freedom of belief and choice is the best. Organized religion has over the years evolved into a fine financial, political, and social tool for many people or groups to cater to the needs of the people and their diverse agendas result in people being told what to believe. If a person can take in all the positive things and jettison the negative things , he/she will be a balanced and wise person and can have the freedom of belief. Being trapped in organized religion is like a cult or semi-cult which regiments even your thoughts and responses and opinions about the 'other' people which is not good for the harmony and peace of the world.

I believe in what I choose to believe because religions are man's work and not perfect, so I prefer dealing with the person in charge without intermediaries. ( smile ). All religions are good for the basic education but past that, we all have free choice to do good or bad and have to face the consequences sooner or later. This is common sense. There is not really a need for organized religion when one is a believer in God
He has given us that freedom of choice so there is no need to let other human beings decide for us about what our personnal mission should be on this earth.

I personally grew up in a very strict organized religion setting... I was so sure that it was 100% correct ( call me brainwashed)... but when I went to high school I started making friends and going to church with them to see what it was about... none of it made sense to me, and the questions I asked to their ministers and preachers were always "Have Faith! Believe Jesus is your Saviour!" which is all fine and dandy, but those weren't the answers I was looking for. Plainly put, if the eternal salvation of my a** is on the line, I want to know what's best for it. I went to college and had a lot of, shall we say, "experiences"? and have come to the conclusion that while I still believe in the faith I was tought growing up, I don't think it's complete... I think there is still a bigger picture that organized religion cannot come to terms with; And that an individual must come to their own peace and understanding with God by themselves in there own way.

Having never liked being told what to do (especially by old men) I choose not to have any part in an organised religion. To me they are all control mechanisms, and whilst I respect others' right to believe in a higher being, I hate the established 'church' of all denominations and faiths. Telling people how to live their life, down to what they eat and wear (hats in church, no meat on fridays etc) is not my idea of how to worship a god.

i think that beleiveing whatever you want is good and i myself am a non beleiver, having said that people get a lot out of beleiving a certain religion and it makes them feel a part of something bigger than themselves which is possibly a comforting thing...out of the two i would think that you would get the most out of the organised religion..

Freedom of religion, and freedom from religion, is what seperates a democracy from a dictatorship.
Religion is something you do over and over again.
I shower religously. I brush my teeth religously.
I have a faith that is free from man made rules.
My faith in the New covenant of Jesus Christ not only explains the past, as many other faiths do, but also the future in perfect detail.
Do the others? I think not!

Currently I favour having the freedom to believe what I like, but I have not ruled out organized religion entirely, as I can see certain benefits to it and I haven't done enough research reall to rule anything out. I like to think that I am on some sort of spiritual journey, so that, while I have freedom to believe what I want, what I believe has to be subjected to constant scrutiny and has to come from experience, like I cant just start to believe any old thing that suits me, I have to think it through and monitor my beliefs.

Organised religion is for people who lack imagination, willingness to do research into belief systems to find what's right for them, and a sense of an individual personality. They're lucky I suppose, because it takes so little to keep them feeling complete and being completely uninteresting. I believe in the smurfs when I get bored.............

freedom to choose!!! religions have changed over the years, and i never saw god decend and change them himself - organised religion is a man made thing, im not denying their might be a god somewhere in there but he would die inside the shell of ritual and prayer.
im somewhere between and atheist, a scientist and a few others ie buddism.
but i pick and choose the things i want to believe as is my Me/god given right
